The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Bit of a Corpse Bride quote for a title. Sorry bout that.
But yea, I have many questions without answers.

1. Ok so, at school everyone is obsessing over the big end of school Prom, I had decided not to go, as I am not a lover of parties, but all my friends and even people who aren't my friends are saying that I must absolutely go. Should I or not? If I do go there will be nothing for it but to pretty much dress up as Alice from Tim Burton's AiW. I might might even make the dress? Don't know.

2. I have been wondering about getting Facebook, as this year I leave school in June, and don't have or like mobile phones so it may be a good way to keep in touch with friends. Plus it may be good from a business point of view, as I think you can promote your stuffs on Etsy. Can anyone tell me a bit of simple info about the site and how it is used?

3. Have you seen The Hunger Games, how is it?

1. I hate parties too. But somehow I always seem to go to an off one. I had gone to my prom. I won't lie and say it was the best night of my life and what not. But it was ok. It just depends on how much you like your friends. Say now that I'm in uni I don't even go to the one my department does cause I dislike most people in my course \m/ I'm so lame.
